ING Vysya

We were asked to design the Life Insurance offices for ING-Vysya, an Indo-Dutch collaboration, at their corporate headquarters in Bangalore. Our brief was to create a contemporary, global environment with a touch of local flavour reflecting the partnership netween ING, a global Dutch bank and Vysya, an Indian bank. We were asked to reflect the brand’s core values of transparency, care and performance.

Transparency and lightness are the two primary design elements in the space. Sightlines are freed through the entire area with low, open clusters of ergonomic, workstations custom designed for teamwork and interaction. These are arranged along the centre of two spines, while cabins, discussion/conference rooms and the library line the periphery. Natural light streams into the work environment through large walls of toughened glass between cabins.

There is a controlled use of colour and material. A calm canvas of white, beige and light sycamore wood is peppered with the ING colours, blue and orange.

The brand intents and corporate values are brought into the minimal space by graphic design firm tsk design. Larger-than-life visuals of black and white Indian street imagery create and emotive connect with the local context while bold graphic interventions in orange reinforce the brand color and intent and engage with the viewer.

The essence of the space is to motivate employees and reiterate ING Vysya’s core values.
